Architecture
This course will encourage students to interact and view anew the built environment through the perspective of art. Students will learn about architecture and how to creatively solve problems and tackle artistic challenges, while learning life-long skills such as persistence, reflection, observation, and self-critique. This course has a 3-year curriculum where students can learn the basics, tackling more challenging techniques as the semester progresses. Students can participate in architecture class for consecutive years while at Buzz without repeating an assignment. In this class students will learn:
Elements of art and principles of design: we will use the elements of art in combination with the principles of design and apply them to architecture to create unique works.
Architecture basics: we will explore how to create programs, sketch ideas, make floor plans and 3D models.
History and culture: we will explore how architecture intersects with history and culture to enrich our lives.
3D design: we will learn the techniques needed to create three-dimensional models from facades to stand-alone constructions.
